DIVAS & DANCE: THE LADIES OF LILITH FAIR

AUDITIONS: DANCERS ONLY — Saturday, Jan 11th from 4:00-6:00pm

THE AUDITION:
Seeking trained dancers with experience in one or more of the following: ballet, jazz, modern/contemporary, hip-hop. Jazz shoes, ballet slippers, or lyrical shoes are appropriate. Please arrive with enough time to warm up & stretch before we begin. The theater will be open to artists at 11:15 a.m. Please arrive no later than 12pm (noon).
Bring a headshot or up-to-date photo, your resume, and your calendar with you to list any conflicts with the rehearsal schedule.
THE PROCESS:
Rehearsals: minimal rehearsals will take place Jan 13th-Mar 13th
Tech: Mar 13th from 6-10pm (NO CONFLICTS)
Performances: Mar 14th, 6pm & 8pm (NO CONFLICTS)
SYNOPSIS:
Divas & Dance will be a one-hour presentation of dance-based story-telling as part of our Blackfriars Theatre Concert Series. The show will feature live vocalists performing the music of Lilith Fair artists. Dancers are not required to sing.
CASTING: Seeking 6-8 dancers of all genders/ethnicities/body types (aged 16+). Must be comfortable picking up choreography quickly and embodying it for performance within a couple rehearsals. A $50 stipend will be offered to all dancers.
Blackfriars practices color-conscious and body-positive casting. There can be no conflicts during tech. If you are involved in another show that overlaps with any part of this process, please email us the conflicts at info@blackfriars.org prior to submitting for auditions. Auditions will take place at Blackfriars Theatre, 795 E Main St, Rochester 14605.
VIDEO SUBMISSIONS:
If you cannot make auditions and wish to submit a video audition, please email your submission to info@blackfriars.org no later than Friday, Jan 10th at 4:00 p.m. (late submissions will not be considered). Submissions should consist of TWO dance clips in varying styles and should clearly feature the auditioning dancer.

— Performers will be required to follow all designated Covid protocols throughout the rehearsal process including mask-wearing, if necessary, prior to tech week and social distancing when possible.
—Detailed protocols will be provided and reviewed with those cast prior to any in-person rehearsals.
