In the first act, each sings their show-stopping signature number with a live band backing them, but in act two, things get flipped on their head as six new songs are on the board and the audience pulls names out of a hat to see who sings what! The iconic Broadway musical, performed in concert! A young female singing trio from Chicago get their big break at an amateur competition and begin singing backup vocals for James "Thunder" Early. However, things begin to spin out of control when their agent, Curtis Taylor, Jr., makes Deena and not Effie, the star of what will become known as "The Dreams."
